DEVILDRIVER To Perform At U.K.'s 'Metal Hammer Golden Gods'
March 30, 2009Santa Barbara, California's DEVILDRIVER is the first confirmed band for this year's Metal Hammer Golden Gods ceremony, which is expected to take place in early June in London, England (exact date and venue to be announced). DEVILDRIVER will perform on the main stage of the annual awards bash, which is owned by Future's Metal Hammer magazine. The event celebrates the great and good from the international world of rock and metal as well as playing host to several of the loudest bands on the planet to an audience of frothing and frenzied kids.
Commented DEVILDRIVER frontman Dez Fafara: "To be blunt, I'm excited as HELL to be bringing DEVILDRIVER thunder to the Golden Gods awards in the U.K., and I am thankful we got asked to do it! We will be playing new stuff off the upcoming record entitled 'Pray for Villains', due out late July on Roadrunner Records, and all of us in DEVILDRIVER can't wait to play the new tunes for the first time ever at the Golden Gods! Seems like a great way to kick off the release!"
DEVILDRIVER will film a video for an as-yet-undisclosed track from "Pray For Villains" on April 9 with director Nathan Cox (QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, MARILYN MANSON, LINKIN PARK). DEVILDRIVER will also headline this summer's "Thrash And Burn Tour", which will kick off on July 22 and run through August 30. A European tour with BEHEMOTH and GOJIRA will follow in October.
"Pray For Villains" was recorded at Edge of the Earth studios in Los Angeles with producer Logan Mader (FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, GOJIRA, DIVINE HERESY).
DEVILDRIVER recently re-signed with Roadrunner Records after previously issuing three full-length albums through the label. In addition, the band has secured a new management company in the shape of Davis Entertainment Group.
